How To Add Snaps To Tea Towels For Easy Hanging

I have always hung tea towels on my oven handle but it was so frustrating when they fell off every time I opened the oven. I saw a company online that sold tea towels with snaps, so I just had to figure out how to add them myself. After a little thought I had it figured out. So now my tea towels don’t fall and it is simple to add the snaps!

Materials I Used

Tea towels of your choice
Snap Pliers
Plastic snaps (I ordered an assortment of colors from Amazon)

Step 1

First fold your tea towel in half length ways making sure the top corners are lined up. Using the little awl in the snap plier kit, poke a hole through both layers just in from the corner of the towel.

Step 2

Turn the towel so the top with the holes are at the bottom in front of you. Open the towel. On the left side of the towel insert a round cap up from the bottom then place a stud onto the point of the cap.  See the photos below.
Place the cup of the pliers over the round cap and squeeze tightly. Now one side is done.
For the other corner of the towel place a round cap through the hole on the top side of the towel then place a socket on the cap’s point. Place the pliers’ cup over the cap then give a tight squeeze. See the photos below. Your snaps are now done.

Step 3

Time to hang your towels. Place the top of the towel over the oven handle then bring the two corners from the back around to the front and snap them together.
You can adjust the towel’s length by pulling down the snapped part. Straighten the towel and now you have a simple way to hang your tea towels. I hope you give this a try; it does become addictive lol. The snapped towels make wonderful gifts for family and friends!
